Recruitment Process
- Orientation Session – The orientation session consists of a review of the Recruitment and Selection Processes, a review of fitness standards and a question and answer period.
- Fitness Test – All applicants, who attend the Orientation Session, are invited to the four-item, pass or fail, fitness test. All applicants, who successfully complete this test, are invited to a mandatory written Suitability Test.
- Written Suitability Testing – This testing is usually held immediately after successful completion of the Fitness Test. Suitability testing consists of a battery of written tests and a compilation of background information that requires several hours to complete. Results of the battery are used to group applicants in the eligibility pool.
- Eligibility Pool – Applicants, who pass the Fitness Test and participate in the written Suitability Test, are placed in the Eligibility Pool where they remain for a period of approximately one year from the time of their Orientation, or until a cadet class is scheduled and the Selection Process is initiated, whichever comes first. Applicants are encouraged to submit another Pre-Employment Inquiry Application if they have not been chosen to enter the Selection Process after nine months of being placed in the eligibility pool.
